March Viva la Diva Announced!

Kim has really rocked those angles! I love the pop of yellow!

Lori has also used yellow to great effect - I just love all those chevrons!

Wanda has a gorgeous distressed take on the sketch - and look, more yellow! Maybe everyone is wishing for some sunshine?!

VLV March Week 3 Sketch Recap + Viewfinder

VLV March Week 2 Sketch Recap + Viewfinder

Today is Viewfinder Day, a glimpse at all the goodies in the VLV gallery and a chance to refresh the sketch and pull those of you in to our little festive fun!

Maureen is our St. Patrick's Day baby and we could say one more time a heartfelt "Happy Birthday, Diva!" even though it was actually yesterday. Here's the sketch from Maureen this week.

Diana's card caught my eye with all the crisp lines of her doily and flowers.

This delicate color combo is gorgeous and that Doni used a black pen to sketch on her leaves won my artsy heart.

Jo Hooper's card is a lot of fun. The bold design in the background would certainly make any day happy for me.

Greetings everyone!  It's the second week of March so this St. Patrick's Day baby is ready to get her green on!  I hope YOU are too!  Yep, my favourite day of the year is on Monday so are you ready to "sham"rock this sketch with me?!

VLV March Week 1 Recap + Viewfinder

Hi there! It's time for this week's Viva la Verve recap and Viewfinder.  A chance for us to spotlight a few fabulous creations gracing the challenge gallery.  Here is my take on the sketch.

I had fully intended to use both the colour combination and the sketch on my card, but as I was merrily working on my card, it dawned on me that I had totally forgotten about the colour combination - dang!  Hate when that happens.  Blaming family interruptions while crafting on the slip up - that's my story and I'm sticking to it wink, wink!

We also have an optional color challenge thrown in to this week's mix!  You can combine it with the sketch, or just use the colour combination on its own if you like.

Now on to the cards in the gallery which caught my eye.

First up, is this gorgeous card by Greta.  She showcased this week's colour combination fabulously.  The stitched edges and wood grain panel make the tulips pop and the butterfly charm is a lovely touch.   Added bonus: tulips are my favorite flower :)

Next up is this beautiful white on white card by Tricia.  White on white cards have always been a favorite of mine, and Tricia has added lots of wonderful elements to showcase the layers.  Her flower is made using the Goodness Flowers die set (spritzed and crumpled) and the sentiment panels uses the Classy Label die and a sentiment from Scripture Medley 2.  She even snuck in the colour combo on the variegated sentiment.

This card by Cindy from Canada (waving to you from Vancouver, Cindy!) used a fun mix of papers and I just adore the sparkly French sentiment and cute ampersand clip at the top.

Welcome to our first Viva la Verve sketch of March!

Okay, it's the first challenge of the month and that means it's a sketch + color challenge.  It's no secret that I love aqua and brown, so this month I decided to add a bit of green to the mix in honor of St. Patrick's Day for our color challenge. Hope you enjoy this fun spring palette.
