Viva la Verve June Week 4 Recap and Viewfinder

I am probably the last person on earth to purchase stitched circle dies, but  I saw some on a huge sale at Amazon last week and they just arrived.  So I couldn't wait to tackle this sketch again with new dies in hand...

Here is my card for this sketch using The Buzz and the matching dies from The Buzz die set!

I mixed a few of the panels up from the sketch order, but you can see I still stuck with the basic layout :) I just love this new Plain Jane Proverbs 16:24. Back when I was a kid in youth group we used to sing a song with these lyrics, I loved it so much! 

I cut a couple of the amazing bees and stamped them in brown ink. On the circles in the background you can see I stamped the honeycomb stamp in kraft ink. I just love these colors together!

Here is my take on Charmaine's wonderful sketch.

I am still enamored with the newly released The Buzz.  Adore the bee image and felt it was a good match for the picnic type theme the gingham paper produced as bees (along with ants!) are often uninvited guests at a picnic.

Used The Buzz Die Set as well as the Flourished Tag die set for my focal panel and since "joy" is my favorite word, I just had to use this sentiment!

Ellen's card uses Take Note and I love the polka dotted paper in the background as well as her use of vellum for the sentiment panel.

 

Lisa's card screams party and summer time with all the bright colours and fun papers she used.

I adore Pink Unicorn's background on her card and it just pops against the white.  Could have used some of that ice cream today too wink, wink!

Here is my take on this week's sketch:

I used the NEW Proverbs 16:24 Plain Jane along with The Buzz.  I stamped and embossed the sentiment in white.  The papers are from the Family Ties Collection from Echo Park.  I also used The Buzz Die Set to die cut and stamp the honeycombs on the card as well as the bee.  As a finishing touch, I added some Shine Bright Sequins to the card.

Stacey used the NEW Butterfly Dreams Die Set , the NEW Flourished Tag Die Set, the NEW Sparkly Dream, Summer Sailing Ribbon Collection and Pink Sparkle Sequin Mix.

Here is my take on Stacey's awesome sketch!  I used the NEW Psalm 19:14 Plain Jane that is releasing this Friday!!  I used papers from the Family Ties Collection from Pebbles.  The sentiment was stamped and embossed on a piece die cut with the Rounded Rectangle Die.  The ribbon is from the Stormy Skies Ribbon Collection.  I used some sequins from the Shine Bright Sequin Mix and leaves from the Sprightly Sprigs Die Set.

I really thought this card from Lisa was just beautiful!  I love the elegant, soft feel of the card and the pop of color she added with the flowers!!

This card from Ellen really caught my eye!  I LOVE the modern feel it has with the patterns and colors.  That doily gives a "not so frilly" feel that I really like!!  She used the Coffee set along with the Coffee Word Die.  

This last one from Hillary also caught my eye with those bold colors!  Just beautiful!!  Hillary used Joyful Blooms and Unto Us as well as the Joyful Blooms, Leafy Sprigs and Classy Label Dies.

Here's my take on this week's sketch using the Psalm 119:105 Plain Jane and Flutterby butterfly die.  After I had completed and photographed the card I realized I did a bit of a goof in that I didn't use two different papers for my background - my bad!  No time to make a new card so I improvised by adding a tiny strip of dark brown to at least split the panels.  Note to self: double check the sketch when you are in a hurry to get one done to make sure you are following it {bashful grin}.

First up is this wonderful strawberry themed card by Lisa.  Don't know about you, but I always love strawberry season and it is in full swing here!  My son is a strawberry hound and at the rate he consumes them I think I am going to send him out to pick his own LOL! 

Lori created this delicious card using Small Packages and the Cupcake Frame dies.

Loved how 2amscrapper (such a fun name!) flipped the sketch and created this wonderful coffee card.  Her paper pieced cup is fabulous and love the flower accents.
